These monks have chosen a life of service and close companionship with one another on the tireless journey towards enlightenment.

A Syrian refugee father and daughter. The night before this photo was taken they arrived on the shores of the island of Lesbos after fleeing in the night on a rubber dingy and risking their lives to find a new home. it's just the start of a long journey ahead which will take months, and put them in many dangerous situations. The love and bond this father has for his daughter is everything he tells me. He says "her future is all we have now, my generation is gone, destroyed by war. My only hope is to bring her to a new country and give her a new life."
